Robert will be writing a new work for clarinet duo + electronics:

  • Instrumentation: Soprano Clarinet (with optional guitar effect pedals), Bass Clarinet (with optional guitar effect pedals),  and Electronic Backing (with click track but should be able to be done without click)
  • Length: At least 5 minutes but no longer than 10
  • Cost: $75 (Per duo)
  • Delivery: TBD

About the Consortium Leads

Chris Mothersole

Praised for his “pure, yet colorful tone and amazing technical facility”, Chris Mothersole’s work places him at the forefront of clarinet performance with guitar effect pedals, demonstrating the sound capabilities of using live effects and working together with composers to commission new music for what has been nicknamed “EFX Clarinet”. With the mission of increasing visibility and accessibility in the art, he gives lectures and recitals across the country, empowering performers with the knowledge and tools to get started with using effects pedals. He holds degrees from the New England Conservatory and the Royal College of Music, and is a Royal Global performing artist.

Marcus Moore

Marcus Moore is an accomplished performer, composer, and educator with a wide-ranging career across local, national, and international platforms. He has performed, recorded, and conducted with many esteemed ensembles, including the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band and the Royal Australian Navy Band. A Royal Global Artist, Marcus holds music degrees from Georgia State University and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His musical journey has taken him throughout Africa, Asia, North America, and the Pacific Islands Region—both as a performer and composer. Marcus remains deeply committed to mentoring young talent and supporting the next generation of artists in his community.
