Robert Langenfeld Compositions

Ever since I moved to Kansas City, MO in 2013, I have fallen in love with the city. The BBQ is outstanding, the community is great and the city just looks amazing. Kansas City has a large number of fountains scattered throughout and each one is as stunning as the city itself. It’s because of this KC has gotten the nickname “City of Fountains” and thus this piece is written about.

In the beginning we hear a simple 3 note motif that serves as the foundation of the piece and builds to the end. Fanfares motifs are scattered throughout and woven in through a tapestry of sounds and colors each reflecting a different fountain in a different way. Finally culminating in a final flourish of colors and wave of sound.
